W100: Suggestive Techniques in Coaching
Coaching is all about purposeful communicating. W here communication, suggestive factors are at play. Suggestive influencing is expected to occur in all interpersonal situations, directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally. Even without our awareness, we are engaged in a process of suggestive influence. The skillful use of suggestions, however, can be an asset in all communication-based professions. Therapists and coaches are in a unique position to harness their impact and utilize them in order to better meet clients’ goals.
This workshop will describe specific suggestive techniques with the use of real-life examples, demonstrations. Since direct suggestions are pretty straightforward, most of the focus will be placed on the use of indirect suggestions. This session will be governed by a specific goal in mind; you will leave the workshop with knowledge that can be put into practice so that you can start to strategically incorporate suggestions into your work with clients.
